GrowMama Homesewn is a slow fashion initiative promoting indie patternmakers and the joys of making and mending homesewn clothes. There are no overlocked seams here. Just beautiful, comfortable clothes that last, like nana used to make.

You can buy ready-made garments – shop is stocked seasonally like a pop-up –  or come to a Community Sew Day and learn how to sew or have a garment sewn for you. Donations of fabric or sewing machines are welcome.

Our tagline is #clothesforlife. Welcome.

There are three parts to GrowMama Homesewn:

Ready made garments

Clothes made with love. Simple designs, comfortable to wear and made from natural or upcycled fabrics and destined for a long life. All sewn on sewing machines. Just like nana used to make. Not an overlocked seam in sight. Stocked in a pop-up manner.

Supporting Indie patternmakers

We partner with independent patternmakers, promoting their work and providing links to their stores as a way to give thanks for permission to use their beautiful patterns.

Community work

We run community sew days on a drop-in basis, creating garments and teaching those who want to learn to sew. We take donations of sewing machines, fabric and sewing supplies and use these for our community work and to gift people who will benefit from them.
