Seems like everyone was making sourdough over lockdown.
Egged on by a comment on my facebook page by my friend Jake, I joined the movement.
It started with an illicit sourdough starter drop in my letterbox. My friend sent me screenshots of directions with a short note breaking it all down to what she did. Hers was super simple so I just followed her example. The result was perfection. Even the fussy teenager type person in the house was suitably impressed. I call that a win.
It makes two loaves, one to eat and one to give away or slice and freeze.
We're a few months into keeping the starter going now. Sometimes it's white bread, sometimes rye.
Mostly a wholemeal mix with ground linseeds. Loving the ritual of making homemade sourdough.
There is nothing like the smell of freshly baked bread!
