|Michele, Leonie and Alex from On the Rag, my new favourite podcast.|
What I have been watching, reading, listening to and thinking about lately:
Do you have a family charter?
Best twitter thread ever. Why men are 100% responsible for unwanted pregnancies. (Yup, DesignMom strikes again!)
Best new podcast discovery. On the Rag with Michele A’Court, Alex Casey and Leonie Hayden. Not sure how I am so slow to this party but anyway, I’m there now. So good.
The new Amy jumpsuit pattern from Closet Case patterns is out! I am tempted.
Being nature geeks, we watch out for these every year – the comedy wildlife photography awards. That one of the female lion…gold!
Going West Writers Festival – they’re releasing each author’s session on a podcast over the next few months. Keep an eye on their website for those. I recommend Catherine Woulfe talking to Jenny Robin Jones about Loneliness and Belonging and apparently the ‘Women then, Women now’ session facilitated by Carol Hirschfeld with Lizzie Marvelly, Dame Fiona Kidman, Sandra Coney and Golriz Ghahraman was a good one too.
Minimum series. Watch it. That’s all I’m going to say.
Mac Miller on NPR’s Tiny Desk days before he died. (That third song) So sad. Such a talent.
Brilliant news piece on the World Surf League’s announcement that men and women will receive the same prize money from the Raglan Surf Report. Don’t read the comments on the original post! Shocking. Here’s the photo that triggered the outrage. Understandable!
We live in a surfing community so it’s big news around here.
Imposter syndrome. I have it. Maybe you do too? TEDx put this great vid out.
Claire Wineland died. We lost a special one folks.
NZ has three official languages, English, Te Reo Māori and NZ sign language. Sadly not all NZ’ers are aware of that. Te wiki o te reo Māori / Māori language week was a few weeks ago, even made it to NYC.
Musical interlude! Check these guys out. Stereotypes.
Fab open letter to NZ department store, Farmers, by Angela of Pretty Smart – in response to their latest airbrushed catalogue of women who clearly don’t represent body diversity.
This wins my ‘best ad’ prize for the month.
